Isn’t straight edge the opposite of freedom? You put rules and regulations on your life and the life of others.. OOO anti edge for life!

Freedom from the oppression of a life ruled by drugs and alcohol; freedom from the poison of drugs; freedom from the mental incapacitation caused by drug/alcohol use; freedom from the mental, physical, and emotional harm using drugs/alcohol does to one’s body. THAT is true freedom

Idk, I would still say that true freedom would be to not put a label and rules on your life. You are free to choose and stay drug and alcohol free but you could at any given moment change your mind because you are free to do so. I understand where you are coming from. With like addiction and stuff being controlling but there are plenty of people that have glass of wine with dinner every once and a blue moon and they are in no way controlled by a substance.. And being a straight edge person you do not have that freedom because you would in turn be breaking your personal moral code.
